Dr. Peter Floros is an Australian trained Otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose and Throat Surgeon) and Head and Neck Surgeon based in Sydney and Canberra.

Although thoroughly trained in treating all aspects of the Ear, Nose and Throat, Dr. Floros has a special interest in Head and Neck, Robotic, Reconstructive and Nasal/Sinus surgery.

Dr. Floros completed his Otolaryngology, Head and Neck surgical training in NSW and ACT at Sydney, Canberra and Newcastle hospitals. Upon completion of surgical training in 2017, he completed a Fellowship in Head and Neck and Airway reconstruction surgery at St Vincent’s Hospital, Sydney with Associate Professor Dr. Richard Gallagher. During this appointment, he did specialised training in advanced Head and Neck surgery, Robotic Surgery and complex Airway procedures.

Dr. Floros then completed an international surgical fellowship in Advanced Head and Neck Oncology surgery which included Trans-oral Robotic and Reconstructive Head and Neck Surgery with Dr. J. Scott Magnuson at Advent Health Celebration Hospital, Orlando, Florida. It was during this international fellowship, he became the first Australian surgeon to perform a robotic Head and Neck Cancer surgery with the Davinci Single Port Robotic system.

Dr. Floros is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of Surgeons and is a member of the Australian Society of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery and the American Head and Neck Society.

Dr. Floros has been published in a number of medical journals including major international publications.

SURGICAL SPECIALTIES

Although trained in all areas of Ear, Nose & Throat, Head & Neck surgery, Dr. Floros has a specialised interest in the following surgical procedures.

TRANSORAL ROBOTIC SURGERY (TORS)

Transoral Robotic Surgery or TORS is a technique most commonly used by head and neck surgeons to remove cancers of the throat, including the tonsil and base of the tongue.

Head & NECK RECONstructive surgery

Head and Neck Surgery encompasses a broad range of procedures from complex large cancer operations requiring reconstruction to removal of small skin lesions from the head or face.

tHYROID SURGERY

Thyroidectomy is the surgical removal of part or all of your thyroid gland. This may be required due to cancer, non-cancerous enlargement (Goitre) or due to overactivity (Grave’s Disease).

Head & NECK Cancer

Head and Neck Surgery encompasses a broad range of procedures from complex large cancer operations requiring reconstruction to removal of small skin lesions from the head or face.

PARATHYROID SURGERY

Surgery for the Parathyroid glands is required when they become overactive and enlarged, a condition called hyperparathyroidism. It is most frequently due to a single enlarged gland (Parathyroid Adenoma), but may be due to multiple glands.

salivary gland surgery

Surgery for the salivary glands may be required to remove cancer, non-cancerous masses, salivary glands which frequently become infected or inflamed or rarely for other benign conditions.
